JEROME COUNTY — Ten cars were involved in nine crashes along Interstate 84 Friday morning.
Five of those crashes happened around mile marker 173, where there was a particularly slick patch of ice, a Southern Idaho Regional Communications dispatcher said. While the crashes occurred around the same time early Friday morning, all were separate single-vehicle crashes. The first crash was called in at 4:22 a.m., and the four other crashes happened shortly after.
Two ambulances took an unknown number of people to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center as a result, the dispatcher said.
Around 5 a.m., two cars were involved in a crash around mile marker 170, and two more single-car crashes took place around mile markers 193 and 189 shortly after 7 a.m., according to SIRCOMM. Three people from the crash at 189 were taken to St. Luke’s with minor injuries.
