HAILEY • Want to have a say about which instructional materials end up in classrooms?

The Blaine County School District is looking for community members to participate in the process for adopting textbooks and other materials.

This school year, one task force will select materials for the world languages curriculum for sixth- through 12th-graders.

Residents serving on this task force must be willing to make a one-year commitment.

During this school year and the next one, a different task force will select instructional materials for language arts. Participation on this task force requires a two-year commitment.

Both task forces meet monthly from 3:45-5:45 p.m. from January through June at the school district office in Hailey.

Two to four full-day meetings to screen materials and hear from publishers will also be scheduled.
