HAILEY — Blaine County School District will host Middle School Choice Week with open houses for Hemingway STEAM and Wood River Middle schools. Fifth grade parents and students are invited to meet the teachers and tour the schools: Hemingway STEAM School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at 111 Eighth St. E., Ketchum; Wood River Middle School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at 900 Second Ave. N, Hailey.

Hemingway STEAM School offers a smaller environment and a focus on integrating science, technology, engineering, arts and math into every lesson. In addition, Hemingway STEAM offers world languages and STEAM-focused electives. Wood River Middle School offers a robust number of elective courses, world languages, athletics, clubs and activities.

Bring-a-Friend-to School Day for current fifth- and sixth-grade students will be at Hemingway on Jan. 22, and tours with the principal will be from 12 to 1 p.m. every Friday. Register for Hemingway STEAM School with Principal Tish Short on Jan. 26 — the pre-registration and school choice forms should be returned to fifth-grade teachers.
