BOISE — Campers, anglers and boaters dreaming of outdoor adventures can now go online to reserve spots at Idaho Power’s most popular campgrounds. Seven campgrounds — four in Hells Canyon and three at C.J. Strike — are open for reservations at idahopower.com. Click the campground reservations link. Picnic shelters can also be reserved for group events.
Reservations can only be made for visits scheduled between the first Friday in April through the last Sunday in October. You can make reservations up to nine months in advance. Off-season camping will remain first-come, first-served.
Overnight camping sites at Swan Falls Dam, Carter’s Landing in Hells Canyon, Locust Park near C.J. Strike and the Moonshine Mine boat launch near Richland, Oregon, are not included in the reservation system. Some spots will remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.
It costs $10 to reserve online. A phone reservation option is also available for $15. Camping rates have not changed; however, campers will be responsible for state and local taxes that previously were paid by Idaho Power. Prices range from $8-$16 per night, depending on campsite location and whether it is an RV or tent space. Full camping rates, FAQs and a link to the online reservation system are available at idahopower.com/recreation.
