North Shoshone’s Christmas Home Tour is a chance to get to know your neighbors — by decorating your home or business in the season’s spirit and inviting them in to see your handiwork.
The public tour, set for 2-6 p.m. Dec. 10, already has some family homes signed up, as well as Salli’s Back Porch Fabrics and Fresh Country Hair.
“A few of us have been talking about this for a long time,” Salli’s and Fresh Country owner Salli Hubbs said in a press release. “We live in a wonderful community, but people get so busy they often don’t get the chance to meet the people they pass on the road every day. We’re hoping this will start to change that.”
Inside her business, Hubbs plans a display of holiday quilts, and she’ll show off the house she and her family built, as well. Down the road, another neighbor will give horse-drawn wagon rides to a live manger scene. Another home will host artisans for demonstrations, and local authors will sign books.
To add your home to the tour list, register by Nov. 1 and start decorating. Organizers are charging hosts a $10 registration fee to help pay for advertising. Participants may choose to provide refreshments for guests, and they’re welcome to sell products.
Ticket proceeds will benefit the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship fund.
An informational meeting for hosts is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Salli’s Back Porch Fabrics, to go over the marketing plan and distribute tickets and maps for hosts to sell.
Register: Hubbs, 316-1003 or 886-2022.
