Free mobile app promotes healthy choices

Intermountain Healthcare introduced a free mobile application for download from iTunes or Android and Apple devices to help children and teens make good nutrition and fitness choices.

The new app is part of Intermountain’s campaign to tell parents and children about increasing physical activity and adopting healthier eating habits to prevent obesity. Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley is part of Intermountain, a Salt Lake City-based nonprofit health system.

Intermountain said its LiVe app makes it easier to set fitness and healthy eating goals; guides users in tracking progress; links to the campaign’s posters, TV and radio commercials and information; and provides fun suggestions.

The campaign also includes social advertising, school presentations, educational materials for health providers and a kid-friendly website with interactive games and quizzes and links for parents.
