Perhaps making yeast bread isn’t as difficult and time-consuming as you thought. In a hands-on class in Twin Falls, Barbara Abo will teach an easy method for artisan, whole-grain breads based on the book “Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day,” by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois.

The class, “Easy Bread Making,” is set for 9-11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Rudy’s — A Cook’s Paradise, 147 Main Ave. W. Cost is $40.

Besides tasting baked bread, students will prepare and shape their dough to take home and bake. Bring a 3- to 5-quart bowl to mix and proof your dough.

Abo worked with the Idaho Wheat Commission to develop recipes for the “Bread in a Bag” project taught in fourth-grade classrooms across the state, and she has taught youth to make yeast bread in classrooms, lunch rooms, camps and meeting rooms. Working for the University of Idaho, she teaches healthy food preparation and kitchen skills to Idaho families.
