Our Savior Lutheran welcomes new pastor
TWIN FALLS — Our Savior Lutheran Church will welcome their new pastor, the Rev. Anne Palma, at her first service — 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 464 Carriage Lane N., Twin Falls. The public is welcome. Fellowship time will follow the service.
Palma and her husband Romney moved to Twin Falls from Garden City, Idaho. After a 30-year career as a physician with the Veterans Administration, she entered the ministry — completing her master of divinity in 2017. Palma was ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on Jan. 6.
Unitarian Universalists turn their attention to intention
TWIN FALLS — Coming from the Latin word, intentionem, intention literally means a stretching out, a stretching out of mind, of heart, of body, of spirit. When we set an intention, we are turning our attention toward something, or someone, or some idea and stretching out to meet it. Greeting the new year, Unitarian Universalists will discuss how the power of attention and intention can make positive change in the world, in our communities and in ourselves.
The public is welcome at the Magic Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Vendor Blender and Event Center, 588 Addison Ave. W. near the old hospital, Twin Falls.
Unitarian Universalism honors the differing paths individuals travel. Congregations are places where people celebrate, support and challenge one another as they continue on their spiritual journeys. Unitarian Universalists covenant to affirm and promote: the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equality and compassion in human relations; and acceptance of one another. Newcomers of all religious paths, or none at all, are always welcome. Child care is available. The center is handicapped-accessible. Parking is in the rear of the building.

Elwood was Rector of Ascension in the 1980s. He returned to Twin Falls in 2011, serving as chaplain at Saint Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center until his retirement.
Childcare will be available from 8:45 a.m. until after the worship service. Ascension Café, the adult discussion group, will meet after the service to learn about the Enneagram.
