JEROME • Jennie Louise Byington, 87, of Jerome, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, in Twin Falls.

She was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Montevallo, Mo., the daughter of Jesse Frank Blackmon and Lula Mae Gardner Blackmon. Jennie was raised in Missouri and settled in Jerome, Idaho, where she raised her family. She spent many years working in the potato harvest as a grader. She loved sewing and quilting but especially loved spending time with her family.

Jennie is survived by three children, Ellis, Murrell and Pam; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Rose Marie) Blackmon and Vernie Blackmon; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marie and Terry; one sister, Gladys; and two brothers, Murrell and Norman.

A celebration of Jennie’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Magic Valley Evangelical Free Church, 821 E. Ave. H in Jerome, with Pastor Mark Tatro officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
