VERNAL, Utah — Ian Aston Brown returned quietly to his Heavenly Father early Monday, Sept. 16, 2013.
Though much of his life was spent struggling through the physical limitations of Sanfilippo Syndrome, Ian was a positive, happy child who always found joy in life. His bright smile and contagious laugh brought light and sparkle to all those who knew him. His patience, sense of humor and love for his family were strong and evident to the end. He loved and brought out the best in everyone around him.
He is survived by his parents, Clayton and Erin Brown; younger sister, Anya; maternal grandparents, Stephen and Shanan Aston of Rupert, Idaho; paternal grandparents, David and Kathy Brown of Liberty, Utah, and Teri Brown of South Weber, Utah; paternal great-grandparents, Francis and Loa Brown of Logan, Utah; three aunts, Sunni Wilkinson (Sean), Aimee Barfuss (Dylan) and Jamie Fisher (Shon); seven uncles, Dylan Brown, Riley Brown (Katherine), Stephen Aston (Kendra), and Andrew Aston; and seven cousins, Grant, Grace, James, Madeline, Ella, Cael and Beck. He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Theodore and Doris Aston and Eldon and Erlene Stephenson; as well as paternal great-grandparents, Lawrence and Edith Anderson.
He will be missed, but we know he is busy sharing his “magic” with others and are thankful to have been able to share the last 11 years with him.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Ashley Valley Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Vernal LDS 2nd Ward chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Logan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to a memorial fund in Ian’s name for Shriner’s Hospital, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103; (801-536-3500 or 800-313-3745, option 6).
