KIMBERLY — Christopher Michael Laughlin, “Gumby,” “Mer,” “Shaneequa,” 37, of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Ketchum, Idaho.
Chris was born July 5, 1975, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Kathy Laughlin and Emory Warren. He was raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. Early in life, he and Blanca Asuncio had a beautiful daughter, Ashley Andrews (19). He married Katrina Hurst on Nov. 4, 1996, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Together they had two incredible boys, Michael Laughlin (16) and Anthony Laughlin (11). They later divorced but have always remained close friends.
Chris was an amazingly loving father and his children were his life. He was a devoted friend and would do anything for his friends and family. Chris enjoyed mountain biking, camping, ski biking, fishing and anything that involved being outdoors. He was an extraordinary individual who could build anything, whether that be rocket cars, a trike for his son or rebuilding anything with a motor, and he took extreme pride in building custom car stereos and equipment. One of his biggest accomplishments is the suburban he built for his son.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Andrews of Filer, Idaho; two sons, Michael Laughlin and Anthony Laughlin of Kimberly, Idaho; mother, Kathy Laughlin of Twin Falls, Idaho; father, Emory Warren of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister, Melody Warren of Twin Falls, Idaho; three brothers, Scott Laughlin of Buhl, Idaho, Randy Warren of Twin Falls, Idaho, and George Lot of Twin Falls, Idaho; goddaughter, Alissa Miller of Filer, Idaho; and godson, Rhylen Freeman of Twin Falls, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Joy; and grandmother, Helen Joy, along with uncle, Lawrence Robert Laughlin.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls. Those who wish may share memories on his memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.
