The eighth annual Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering is Thursday through Saturday at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Shoshone. The gathering features musician and poets from all over the country. Free day shows begin at 10 a.m. on Friday and feature entertainers and open mic sessions. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. with a pre-show at 6:15 p.m. Evening tickets are $20 each night or $35 for Friday and Saturday's concerts. Reserved seating is $25. A tale as old as time
The Magic Valley Repertory Theatre presents "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sept. 18, 22 and 23 at the Orpheum Theatre. There is also 2:30 p.m. matinees on Sept. 17 and Sept. 24. The classic love story tells of the Beast, who is really a prince trapped under a spell. He must learn to love and be loved by a young woman named Belle before the curse can end. But if time runs out, the Beast and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Tickets cost $10 for balcony, $12 orchestra, $15 mezzanine and $50 per box.

There is a Buhl Airport Open House and Chili Cook-off from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the airport, 1276A E. 4100 N. First prize is a flight over Shoshone Falls. The public is welcome to enter their best chili, and local pilots and hangar owners can display their aircraft. There is no entrance fee and chili contestants need to register with Foothills Aviation staff at 208-543-8999.
