David Lierman of Kimberly and Leon Thieman of Twin Falls are among the eight elite UPS drivers from Idaho who have been inducted into the Circle of Honor. This honorary organization is for UPS drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.
Idaho boasts 44 Circle of Honor drivers with a combined 1,012 years of accident-free driving. There are 575 total full-time UPS drivers in the state.
The 127,000 small-package drivers in the United States are among the safest on the roads — logging more than 3 billion miles a year and delivering nearly 5 billion packages annually.
Founded in 1907, UPS issued its first driver handbook in 1917 and began recognizing safe drivers in 1923.
