TWIN FALLS — The Idaho Small Business Development Center will host four trainings for businesses this spring in Twin Falls.
The “2018 Employer Healthcare Education Summit” will take place from noon to 2 p.m. March 6 at the Turf Club, 734 Falls Ave. The luncheon is designed for small business owners who want to explore providing insurance to their employees. Resources such as Family Health Services, the Patient Financial Navigator Foundation and the Small Business Development Center will present what is available and how to go about adopting it. The cost is $20.
A“Start-up Business Seminar” will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 15 at the Small Business Development Center office, 202 Falls Ave. Topics will include:
- “The Basics of Business Regulations” — knowledge needed before opening the doors
- “The Importance of Preparedness” — creating a business plan
- “Your Personal Business Survival Kit”
The cost is $30 for pre-registration and $40 for day-of-class registration. Register early by calling 208-732-6450. If not able to attend, cancel your seat as there is a waiting list for this class.
“Business Valuation: Sell or Purchase” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 16 at the Canyon Springs Golf course, 199 Canyons Springs Road. This event is for accountants, bankers, certified financial planners, investors and business owners.
The morning session will cover the Small Business Development Center’s role in helping clients buy a business; how the Small Business Administration’s loan process works; and how to properly evaluate a business that is for sale. The afternoon session will include how the SBDC helps clients prepare a business for sale; how to properly invest income from the selling of a business; and how to properly evaluate a business to create a fair sale price.
A catered lunch mix-and-mingle will be included in the ticket cost. This event is sponsored by Canyon Valuations, The Idaho SBDC at CSI and Senate Eskridge — investment adviser representative. All the co-sponsors are Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce members. The cost is $30 per session or $50 for both sessions.
The “2018 All-Business Conference” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 18 at the Canyon Crest Dining and Event Center, 330 Canyon Crest Drive, Twin Falls. The conference will include networking opportunities, dynamic speakers, an exhibit area, a continental breakfast and lunch. The cost is $60.
